September 16, 2009 President Obama coming Monday to Troy
TROY -- President Obama will visit Hudson Valley Community College in Troy on Monday to discuss regional technology initiatives, said Saratoga County Democratic Chairman Larry Bulman.
The president is expected to arrive at the college at about 11 a.m., said Maggie McKeon, a spokeswoman for U.S. Rep. Scott Murphy, D-Glens Falls.
Topics of the meeting will include the Luther Forest Technology Park in Malta and the Albany Nanotech research center in Albany.
"Basically the emerging economic and high tech jobs in the regions economy," McKeon said.
Bulman said it was decided the meeting would be held at Hudson Valley Community College instead of Luther Forest because of time constraints.
Troy is closer to Albany International Airport than Malta.
